You should know that I’m a fan of abnormally large, fictional, discolored animals like Clifford the Big Red Dog, Big Bird and that giant, goofy-looking, purple thing from McDonald’s, so when I drove by the Blue Ox Gift Shop in Maine, I had to stop in.
You often hear about Maine and their lobster industry, but never really about their logging history, so their lumberjack show, Timber Tina’s Great Maine Lumberjack Show, complete with lumberjacks, jills, axe-throwing contests, log rolling and so much more was available for any passersby to come in for good family entertainment.
I was expecting something you’d see on ESPN 2 on a Saturday afternoon, but it wasn’t that, but this wasn’t bad either.
You should take any chance you get to see an American roll a Canadian off a log.
Especially if it’s Independence Day.
