I love the World Cup and the Olympics because three times every four years, different countries with differing politics come together to a predetermined location and violentlessly battle it out according to predetermined rules until someone goes home a winner and everyone else a loser.
We, as humans, can't even agree on how to prevent melting polar ice caps, end modern slavery or settle border disputes, but somehow we, as the same aforementioned humans, can agree on when a ball is out of bounds.
And if we can somehow apply this binary, objective logic to the world's more important issues, who's to say the planet wouldn't be a better place? Surely Space Jam is a good case study on settling matters on the court for the sake of humanity.
Throughout the World Cup, I made things to support our soccer players on social media, besides the Soccer-Spangled Banner.
